Friends of the Wye conservation at the Rye & Holywell Mead – Tuesday 28 March 2023
Fourteen Friends of the Wye volunteers were in action, on a wet morning, enthusiastically litter picking and removing woody debris and overgrown vegetation from the back stream. Some five or so bags, of in-stream and bankside litter were collected and a separate small team collected a further two bags of litter from the main river.
The litter, woody material and excess vegetation were collected into bank-side piles ready for later removal by the council’s contractors.
Our volunteers are rewarded by the satisfaction of tasks well done, and of course, tea and biscuits!
Thanks to everyone who took part.
